2010-2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe recall does not affect UK
The news that Hyundai is to recall 84,000 of its 2010-2016 Genesis Coupe cars did get UK owners worried, as they were worried their models were suffering from a wiring issue that could cause the front passenger airbag to malfunction. However, this does not seem to be the case, as from what we know the UK is not affected by this latest recall.
It would seem that all 84,000 affected units are for the US only, and so no worries for UK owners, and so we can only assume that the wiring fault happened at just the one plant.
Details of the recall itself – An electrical connector for the front passenger seat air-bag could become disconnected, which could mean the airbag could deploy if a child was sitting on the seat. The recall is to start on December 2, where dealers will make certain that the wiring is correctly connected.
