Bentley problems

When it comes to great British motors, Bentley is right up there with Rolls Royce, even though both brands are now owned by German automakers. Some may say that several of these models have lost that certain something because of the German influence, and they could be right, although it is a far better compromise then losing the likes of Bentley altogether.

Bentley problems

Bentley was founded back in 1918, although by 1931 was acquired by Rolls-Royce. The cars are now sold via franchised dealers throughout the world, and it is now China that has a huge percentage of the market share in terms of sales.

There have been some great Bentley models over the years, although the latest are the Continental GT, Continental Flying Spur, Mulsanne, Speed Six and many more.

The good news is that there are very rarely any Bentley car recalls, although that is not to say they are without their problems. No doubt you will be more than happy to share some of those issue with our readers in the comments section below.

The Bentley Continental GT has been voted one of the least reliable European cars, and I would have to agree with that finding. I have a 2008 model and ever since its warranty ran out I have been back to the dealer on various occasions for the same issue. The main problem is that the heating elements in the rear windows keep failing.

I’ve lost count on how many times my 2003 Bentley Continental GT has been back to the dealer because of various electrical issues.

  • Jerry

After constant air suspension problems with my Bentley Flying Spur, I have now decided to go for OE front air shocks from the U.S. because they are cheaper and also give you a far better driving experience. Not only that, but they come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Can someone please help, the headlights on my 2000 Bentley Arnage will not turn off.

  • Graham

The alloy wheels on my 2012 Bentley Continental GT have started to corrode. This is now the second time this has happened. Is there a reason why this should keep happening?

  • David

For some reason the high level brake light is not working on my Bentley Continental GT. I have heard that I may need to replace the entire unit, is this true?

  • Miles

I have a blocked plenum chamber on my Continental GT, and I left it too long before clearing out, which resulted in the front footwells getting wet. If I were you I would unblock the plenum chamber as often as possible.

  • Edward

The front end on my Bentley seems to be lower than usual, and as such I think this could be an issue with its air suspension. I wondered if this is a job that can be done by any garage, or if it needs to be taken to the main dealer or Bentley specialist?

My 2005 Bentley Continental GT coupe is starting to show signs that inferior parts may have been used. I say this because there has been a leak from the radiator hose, and also the battery can no longer hold its charge. This is something you would not except from a car that cost so much new, even if she is now 10 years old.

  • Donny

The scuttle for my Bentley GT had flooded, which in turn has caused a short circuit and damaged the wiring loom, hence why I have had to change the battery twice now. I thought I would post this so that others will know why this problem keeps happening to them.

  • Leonard

The Secondary battery on my 2008 Bentley Continental GT keeps going flat, and the dealer is unable to locate the fault. I have a feeling that maybe one of the electrical circuits remains live, but how can I check this out if the dealer is unable to find the problem?

  • Miles

I have an issue with my Bentley Continental R, as the driver’s seat will no longer move forward, meaning passengers in the rear are unable to get in. I had a guy repair it, yet after just a couple of weeks it stopped working again.

  • Rupert

For some reason I am no longer able to start my Bentley Continental Flying Spur with the push start/stop button. When the key is inserted there is a contact, yet the car will still not start with that button. I also get the yellow dash and suspension light come up on the dash as well.

I have a imported Bentley Continental GT 2005 from USA.
Noe I try ti make the registration inspection to Sweden, and the inspector pointed the small side marker lights, which are red. Those must be amber in EU.So no Swedish plates.
I ordered new lights, but got red ones!
How to get right amber lights?
The front lights are amber, but are those same as rear?
    Someone know that?

  • Harry

Has anyone else experienced an issue with the 2004 Bentley Continental GT where it rattles inside the cabin from the roof lining? Not only that, but also from the doors cards?

  • Kathy

Has anyone else had window problems with their Bentley GT? I seem to hear a hissing sound coming from the driver’s one when it goes either up or down?

  • Vibez 247365

Hey, I have the exact same issue. I’ve even recharged them and still same issue, I’ve also replaced the batteries once and again same issue.

I have noticed that when starting the car with the key manually this never seems to charge the other battery BUT when I use the push start with key-less the battery charges but eventually goes flat AGAIN!

Please let me know if you even resolved the issue as its becoming embarrassing as well as insanely annoying every time it happens?
