Consistent brake problem with Ford Mondeo
We have found an increase in the number of people complaining that their brakes in the Ford Mondeo are wearing far quicker than they should. One of the worst years seems to be the 2007 model. What is strange is the fact that in most cases, these vehicles have been serviced on a regular basis.
The issue is that more often than not the brakes suffer from a horrible grinding noise, even though there is plenty of meat left on the front pads, and the discs themselves are only about 2 years old, so about 20,000 miles. The brakes used are genuine Ford parts, and so made for the car, yet many of these owners have been told that they have overheated.
Most of these people never driver fast, and so do not overheat their brakes, therefore wonder if there is some kind of design fault? The reason we mention this is because in most of these cases, the pads have slight crakes in them, and the discs have overheated, meaning they will not work as well as they should.
Have you suffered the same issue, if so please share your stories on this dedicated Ford problems page.
