Honda Civic eighth generation problems and solutions

The Eighth generation Honda Civic was built from 2005 to 2011 and consist of several chassis types which were the FD1 FD2, FD7, FA1, FG1, FG2, FA5, FK, FN, and MK8. With a run of so long between the seventh and ninth generation civic you can just image how many vehicles were actually built in that time, and so there will be a huge number of people with problems.

Not all Honda Civic eighth generation problems will be the same, and these can range from serious issues, to just general problems that are easy to solve.

Some of the more common Honda Civic problems are with the steering, gearbox, battery, wipers, lights to name but a few.

We wanted to create this page for the community so that they can share their issues, and also for others to get involved in the hope of sharing their solutions.

I have a 2009 Honda Civic and the clutch has developed an annoying squeak which I have been unable to find the solution to. Do you think it could be the release bearing?

What’s going on, when I am doing around 60 miles per hour and start to slow down it feels as though my brakes are grinding? However, I have checked the pads and there are still plenty of life left in them.
