Kia Motors was founded back in June 1944 and is the oldest carmaker in South Korea, although is not the largest, as that title goes to Hyundai. Kia never started life out making cars, instead they made bicycle parts and steel tubing by hand.
The next step was to make motorcycles, but it was not until 1974 that the company got into making cars. They left the auto industry for a while after that, but got back into the game in 1986 thanks to a partnership with Ford.
Since then things have been going rather well for Kia, thanks to having a base of operations in the U.S. and various parts of Europe. The company is much loved in the UK thanks to offering their customers a lot of car for less money than some of its European rivals.
Kia currently has a large range of models, some of which include the Picanto, Rio, Soul, Cee’d, Optima, Sportage, the Sorrento and many more.
One of the last Kia recalls in the UK was last year, due to an issue with the seatbelts in the Sportage. It is good to see not many recalls for this brand in the United kingdom, although they are still not without their problems, which we are sure owners will be vocal about below.
Kia UK issues up to March 2017You will find Kia car recalls insight in 2017 below, thanks to owner reports.
