Mercedes Vito and V-Class recall over brake issue
If you own a Mercedes-Benz Vito and V-Class vehicle, then there is a possibility that it could be part of a recall in the UK.
There are 9,402 units in all being recalled, and these Vito & V-Class vehicles were built from 01/10/2013 to 30/04/2016. The Manufacturer Ref for this latest recall is SRX1601.
Reason for the recall is due to its braking performance, as it may not be up to standard. This is because the brake fluid container may not have been inserted enough into its mounts, or if it had been was not secured correctly.
This could lead into the container detaching itself and then there would be a loss of brake fluid. A driver could start to notice a slow deterioration with the performance of the vehicle’s brakes, and so will have to press down harder on the brake pedal.
Mercedes is to check affected vehicles to see if the container is fitted correctly, and if not will reposition it and then make certain that the fluid is topped up and working correctly.
