Porsche problems

Even though Porsche AG was first established back in 1931, it was not until after the war that the company decided to get into mass-producing cars, and the rest as they say is history. We all know that Porsche has been stubborn with keeping its engine at the rear, and has taken years of fine tuning in order to get the balance perfectly right, although it’s still ready and waiting to show you who is boss.

Porsche problems

The current Porsche lineup is the 911, which is its longing running model and has not changed in terms of design over the years, as well as the 918, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan and the Panamera. However, let’s not forget one of our favorite supercars of all time, and that is the Porsche 959.

However, the new king in town is the Porsche 918 Spyder, which is a hybrid supercar that competes with the Ferrari La Ferrari and the McLaren P1, even though all three have yet to be raced against each other.

With the cost of your average Porsche being far more than you would usually pay for a car you would think they would be less prone to problems, but you would be wrong. It was only back in January of this year that a recall was issued for 13,500 Cayenne and Panamera models in order to fix a fuel-seal flaw.

Why is it that the coil on my 2004 Porsche 911 keeps failing every six months?

  • Richard

The ignition key in my 2003 Boxster no longer turns, and that;s on top of the stereo failure.

  • Vicky

Cannot believe it, was told the engine needs to be replaced on my 2011 Porsche Cayenne, as it has died on me. I’m now worried as to how much it will cost, and also how long it will take to source a new engine.

  • Nigel

What would be causing the radio station in my 2003 Boxster to skip stations on its own?

  • Jezza

Has anyone else noticed how the dashboard seems to get a lot of reflection from the windscreen on the 2014 Porsche Cayenne? In some cases this can be totally blinding.

  • Jerry

Has anyone else had their 2004 Porsche Carrera GT engine fail on them. Ok, so I know the car is 11 years old, but you still do not expect the engine to fail. Before you ask, I do not drive like I stole it, but it was rather caused it the timing chain. I am saying this for you to be aware, as I have learned that I am not the only one to suffer this fate.

I seem to be having an issue with opening the boot in order to get to the battery on my 2003 Boxster. Has anyone else had the same issue, and if so os there an easy solution?

  • Adrian

My 1998 Porsche 911 is not running on all cylinders. The strange things is, all was working fine before I changed the discs and pads – could I have caught something and has become disconnected?

  • Jon

The nipple on the underside of my Porsche 911 throttle pedal has come out, and now the ABS and PSM light are on all the time. Is there a way to fix this cheaply without having to be ripped off by the main dealer?

  • Derek

When I get to around 4,000rpm in my 1999 Porsche, the car then seems to lack power, and the engine feels as though it is shaking.

  • Mike

Ok, so I know my Porsche 928 is getting on a bit now, but I would very much like to know why the alternator no longer charges the vehicle. The alternator is not al that old, yet it is not doing its intended job. However, I have noticed that things seem to be fine once the engine has been revved to over 3,000rpm, which is very strange.

Whenever I start my 2003 Porsche Boxster up the engine rattles when cold, although after about 20 seconds the noise goes and the car runs sweet at a nut. Is this a normal thing, and if not, what on earth could it be?

  • Harold

Every time I come into heavy traffic my Boxter cuts out, not only the engine but all of the electrics as well. Had the car towed to a Porsche dealer, who have yet been able to recreate this issue. This is of high concern to me because I do not want to drive it again until I have found the root of the problem.

  • Paul

I have a 2010 Porsche with a diesel engine it it. Should I now be worried if this will be inlaced in the VW scandal, and if so what do you think the company will do to those owners affected?

  • Daryl

I have noticed that there is a horrible noise coming from the front of my Boxster, which seems to be far worse when going over humps in the road. I have taken it to a local garage, but they are unable to find the problem – does this mean I will now have to pay out and take it to my nearest Porsche dealer?

  • Roy

There are dents in the rear panels of my Porsche 911, and I wondered if there was an easy way to remove them. These dents are very small, and so wondered if one of those mobile scratch repair companies would be able to sort it for me?

  • Joseph

Every time I start my Porsche Cayenne up, the four wheel warming light comes on. It will go off every now and then, but just so you know, I have never used the four wheel drive, so uncertain as to why the light will be coming on.

  • Rudi

I have a 2003 Porsche 911 and for some reason dents have started to appear on the rear panels. The car has not been hit in any way, these just look like defeats. Has anyone else had such an issue?

  • Denise

The brake pad and rotor wear is overly excessive on my 2009 Porsche Cayman. I do not understand this because as this is a high performance vehicle, you would like to think its brakes would be up to the job. I only have 44 miles on the clock, and I do not drive like an idiot.

  • Donny

I am having issues with my Porsche Boxster because it had first made strange noises, and then just lost all power. The car has been looked at by Porsche, but are unable to find any problems. Has anyone else had this sort of issue before?

  • Martin

I have found a water leak, although unable to locate where it is coming from on my Porsche Cayenne. I first noticed it when going to my car and there was a puddle of water on the driver’s side under the engine. However, I have looked under the bonnet and cannot find any wet patches anywhere.

  • Danny

My 2014 Porsche Boxster has suffered from rapid and uneven tyre wear from since it was new, yet the dealer is not prepared to take responsibility. What is the cause, and should the dealer have to sort this issue out?

  • Maurice

The PCM Radio in my Porsche 911 996 is to working, could this be a fuse issue, or something far worse – please tell me it is the former?

  • Karl

I’ve still not heard when Porsche are to fit my windscreen, as my 911 is one of those that had insufficient bonding.
