Renault Duster recall issue no longer an issue for 2015
Towards the end of last year a recall was issued for the Renault Duster that was built in India and exported to the UK from January 2013 to August 2014 due to an issue with corrosion. For some reason there were inconsistencies with the quality of paint used, along with its process when being applied.
Some models were seeing corrosion appear on doorframes and also under the bonnet, and so had to be recalled in the UK. It is still unknown if there had been any such issues with the Renault Dusters left behind for the Indian market, although we highly doubt it seeing as though the UK weather is far different.
Thankfully, this is no longer an issue with current Renault Duster’s being manufactured, as manufacturing of those sold in the UK were shifted to Romania, where the weather is not too dissimilar to that of the UK.
If you have an issue with corrosion, then chances are your model was built in India and yours could have slipped through the net and so you had best contact your dealer.
While there are not that many Renault recalls to report, we are sure you have a problem you might want to share.
