Toyota, Nissan notifying customers in June over recall
Another month, and another large auto recall, and this time from two companies that have had to issue recalls for the same issue in the past. Toyota and Nissan has announced they are to recall 6.5 million vehicles worldwide so they can check their airbags. However, over a quarter of a million of these are in the UK alone.
What worries us is that there have been five deaths, and so this is the major factor as to why these vehicles are to be recalled. Both Toyota and Nissan have yet to announce details on what models are to be included, although we should not have to wait long.
Toyota and Nissan will begin notifying customers in June over the recall, which should help paint a clearer picture. However, we do know that Toyota is to recall 160,000 models in the UK, and Nissan 100,263.
We can also tell you that 45 models of Toyota are affected and Nissan will include vehicles made from 2004-2007, and will include the Navara and Patrol Pickup, Almera, X-Trail, Tino and the Terrano II.
We are not too certain yet if they will appear this early, but you could head to the gov.uk page to see if your model is affected. If you feel you have an affected vehicle, then please share your feelings on our Nissan and Toyota pages.
