Toyota recalls 7 models over fire concerns
Toyota had to issue a recall for 7 of their models in the UK on Tuesday. The models in question are the Auris, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, RAV4, Urban Cruiser and the Yaris.
Affected models were built between 13/06/2005 – 31/12/2010, and includes 126,110 vehicles in all. While this might not sound like a huge number, it is when this is only the UK figure.
There is a concern that the driver’s side Power Window Master Switch with sliding electrical contact modules could have been incorrectly coated while they were being manufactured.
If this is the case, then they could short circuit, in which case the switch could then overheat, melt and cause a risk off fire.
Toyota is to inspect the switch, apply a special coating, or even replace if there are signs of a malfunction. If you have any concern, then you need to contact your local dealer.
Do you have a problem with your Toyota, if so, then please share your concerns HERE.
