Vauxhall Astra J recall update with these Vehicle IDs
It was at the start of 2015 that we learned of an upcoming recall for the Vauxhall Astra J model years 19/05/2009 to 15/04/2011 due to a risk of fire. We assume that recalls would have started by now because at the time it was estimated to being in around 4 to 6 months.
The reason for this Vauxhall Astra J recall in 2015 is because if the radiator fan becomes blocked their could be a short circuit. This could then lead to the fan module becoming damaged, and even worse, a car fire.
In order to stop this from happening you can remove the battery cover yourself, and do not refit it. Always make certain the fan is not covered up.
If you have a Vauxhall Astra J with the ID AG000001 to CG000009, CG000013 to CG000019, A8000004 to C8000013 and A3001367 to B3023583, then you should contact your local dealer to see if the adapter wiring harness has become available, which should help reduce the risk of fire.
