Vauxhall Zafira recall one-step closer
While the VW scandal has pretty much taken over the headlines in terms of car recalls over the past few weeks, we have to remember that when put into context, it’s not really that bad. We say this because Vauxhall has now launched an investigation after a group of mums set up a Facebook page so that Vauxhall could look into and hopefully issue a recall for its Zafira model
This is because a small number of them have caught on fire, and the horrible thing is, some of these mothers had the distressing experience of getting their children out of the car before the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames.
Yes that’s right, how many people could die just because of poor emissions? We know this does not condone what Volkswagen has done, but it does put things into perspective.
It’s good to hear that Vauxhall has now launched an investigation because they are taking this issue seriously, even though only a small number of these 2005-2012 Vauxhall Zafira models have caught on fire. However, when you hear stories that children were in the car at the time, you do start to worry if you have one of these models yourself.
Update: Vauxhall is offering free inspections to more than 200,000 Zafira models, which should help put owners minds at rest. Are you worried about this issue, if so please share your concerns on our dedicated Vauxhall page.
