Volkswagen emissions scandal compensation figure for UK owners
The Volkswagen emissions scandal is set to keep running, as a conclusion to the issue is far from being resolved. We already know the rough figure of the number of vehicles affected by this upcoming recall in the UK, which by the way is not a mandatory one. However, even before the recalls start to get the issue fixed, there are already discussions going on about affected owners and the possibility of compensation.
In one corner you have the boss of VW saying that affected owners may not be due any compensation. However, the lawyer fighting this case believes each affected owner should be rewarded £2,000 each.
It’s been reported that more than 4,500 people have contacted Leigh Day about pushing for compensation, and we can fully understand why they would do so. However, with the UKs Department of transports not issuing a mandatory recall, and allowing VW to handle things, it cold make the case of compensation that bit tougher.
